1. A Celebration of Color
Perhaps the fastest way to dramatically transform a room is to change the palette of the space: repaint the walls or paste wallpaper. By the way, it is not necessary to do this in the whole room, sometimes it is enough to change one wall to completely transform the interior.
If you have wallpaper on the walls, then to freshen up the room, a couple rolls will be enough. Choose a new, fresh color that will harmonize with the furniture and the rest of the items. Have you always wanted to try that beautiful and luscious shade of green? So why not?
2. The power of decor
Paintings, posters or framed photos hung in a single composition will refresh and brighten up even the dullest living room: they can be used to add color to the interior or set a rhythm, to bring bright spots in the design of the room. Print your favorite family photos or pictures from your travels, decorate them in a baguette, hang them on the wall – I’m sure the living room will instantly become your favorite place in the apartment. Also on the wall will look great a huge map or several large-format posters.
Or perhaps you have some paintings that have been lying idle for a long time, which you have been collecting for years – organize an exhibition in the living room! Just a couple of large paintings above the sofa will add elegance and create a new perspective
3- Replacing the old carpet
A new rug is also a great way to quickly transform a room. With the right color and pattern, it will help you create a finished color scheme, add ornaments or small details. If you want the room to be even cozier, choose a carpet with a long pile – it is a win-win option.
4. The magic of rearranging
A simple rearrangement of furniture can help you get a brand new room for absolutely free. This old method has long been everyone’s favorite precisely because it always works. Just rearrange the sofa and coffee table, get rid of an old dresser or armchair, and your living room will appear in a whole new light.
5. A detailed approach
Change the curtains and a couple of sofa cushions and you won’t recognize your room. Choose the color and pattern of the fabric carefully – they will set the mood of the room.
If you can change the covers on your chair or sofa, consider buying new ones – maybe your sofa isn’t as bad as you thought. Try to choose sofa cushions of different textures. Cushions made of linen, velvet and cotton or other fabrics laid on top of each other will look much more interesting.
6. Light presentation
Properly arranged and selected light will create the right atmosphere for a nice family evening in your living room. If you only have a chandelier and a couple of boring sconces in the room, be sure to add a floor lamp and table lamps to create different levels of lighting. Do you know why hotels are so cozy in the evening? Because you usually turn on the down lights there – floor lamps and lamps.
Are you feeling festive? Take out your Christmas lights and hang them on the windows, and no matter that it’s springtime – let your home be a holiday of good cheer.
7. Accent
Add a highlight to the interior of the living room – a vintage armchair, a designer chair or a lamp. Perhaps you have an old trunk or grandmother’s jewelry box lying around in the countryside – all this can become an interior decoration that will make it individual, and the combination of new and old will give the interior a trendy eclectic note.
8. A world of illusions
A mirror will help to make the room much brighter and will become its visual center. If your living room faces north, then hang a mirror opposite the window and the room will become much brighter and will seem bigger. Choose a beautifully framed mirror and place it above the sofa or on the wall opposite the door to create a new point of attraction.
9. Flowers are blooming
If your living room lacks life – decorate the interior with a bouquet of flowers or a couple of pots with jasmine, gardenia or ficus. Live plants will bring a completely different atmosphere to the space! The main thing is to choose flowers that you can care for properly.
10. Aromatherapy
Smell is also very important to create an atmosphere in the interior. Scents for the living room should be cozy, warm. Bergamot, thyme with lavender, the smell of cinnamon with orange, woody scents are ideal options, but any other scents that soothe you and put you in the mood will do just fine. Don’t skimp – choose candles made from natural wax, and diffusers with natural oil-based liquid. One bottle or candle will last you several months.
